Influencers, as a category of people, are associated with relatively few positive traits. Sacrificing reality on the altar of appearances, many of these hostages of Social Media are forced to appease cold, unfeeling algorithms and stats in pursuit of an idealized lifestyle; a pursuit that has them clout-chasing and leaves no stone un-cringed for views and engagement.

And while there are definitely influencers out there who are decent human beings who enjoy sharing their crafts/interests, there is seemingly limitless supply of cringeworthy hacks who will do absolutely anything for the views.
